New Writing Tips Series on YouTube?

For months, I’ve been toying with the idea of doing a series of YouTube videos about writing, similar to the writing tips I have here on Sundays. If you search through YouTube you’ll find all kinds of tips — some really good and some really bad. I thought I would throw my hat into the ring, and, as a test run, I took my very first writing tip from this blog and created a short video for it. Not sure if it works. I’m trying to make these tips helpful, but also personable. Casual and fun, but informative. Here’s the first one. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Is this worth pursuing? Or should I stick with type tips?

  1. I think a YouTube series could be a lot of fun and an effective way to expand your reach. If you enjoy doing them, go for it. It certainly can’t hurt, right? Perhaps do a series about writing in general and a series about writing Baby Grand, including some behind the scenes Q&A. That way, you can reach two audiences: fellow writers, but also potential readers (I realize writers are also readers, but I think you get what I mean). I LOVE hearing behind the scenes tidbits from writers on their process, and I also love hearing tidbits from my favorite writers on how they’ve written a specific story or scene.

    • What a great idea, Robyn! I hadn’t thought about doing a Behind the Scenes for BABY GRAND. I was so focused on the writing tips, since that’s really what my blog is about. But, yes, maybe I’ll test run one of those too, and see what the response is. :) Thanks, lady!!
