13 days late.
But I’m done, done, done with revisions to Baby Grand. (At least for now, but we won’t even go there…)
It’s 27 pages longer, but, in my opinion, soooo much better. At least I hope so. It’s amazing what taking a two-month reprieve from a manuscript can to do the eyes. And the brain.
As usual, when I finish a huge project, I’m elated, but exhausted. I’ve worked nearly round the clock for the past 28 days. Totally neglected this blog. Totally neglected my kids. But I’m back! And, as tired as my eyes look, the adrenaline is pumping. I feel like Ebenezer Scrooge when he woke up Christmas morning: “You boy! What day be it?” And then realizing with joy that he hasn’t missed it!
So much to do. Cards to address and mail. Presents to buy. Kids to hug. The next two weeks, it’s all about the ho, ho, ho. I promised my kids that I will buy candy canes for the tree, pay way too much money for an outdoor animated lawn thingy — do all the things that I’ve put off. It all starts with taking them to their favorite restaurant tonight. Friendly’s.
Now the waiting begins again. But that’s fine by me. I’ve got some good cheer to spread.
