Just tidied up a chapter — Chapter 27 — featuring the Governor and First Lady of New York in this room, the dining room located on the main floor of the Executive Mansion in Albany. It’s fun to insert fictional characters into what is a very real space. I’ve been wondering what I would have envisioned had I not seen the actual room in person. The upper levels of the mansion were off-limits to visitors, so I’ll be letting my imagination run wild for those areas.
Mansion trivia: Did you know that Teddy Roosevelt installed a boxing ring on the 3rd floor of the mansion when he was governor? (They tell me it’s no longer there, darn.) And kept a menagerie of animals in the basement? And here I thought I liked him because he was an environmentalist.
